EN PRO: Nicolò Rocca still chasing the championship

The DF1 Tigers couldn't quite meet the extremely high expectations based on the good results from the previous races at Grobnik in 2020. Nevertheless Marc Goossens in the Lettner Trans Chevrolet Camaro #77 was able to climb up in the championship to P8. Our EuroNASCAR-ace Nicolò Rocca, who is driving the #22 Grapos Chevrolet Camaro, is still on P4 with good chances to win the title.

Our DF1 Tiger Patrick Lemarié in the FUCHS AUSTRIA Chevrolet Camaro #66 barely missed the Top 10 in the first race on Saturday. In the second race he showed an impressive pace, but due to a possible technical problem, he had to give up a, most likely, very good position.

The next round of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will take place October 8th - 10th on the belgian Circuit Zolder, which will be the home round for Marc Goossens.

Marc Goossens: "It was a difficult weekend in Grobnik. Due to the rain in the free practice on Friday, we couldn't find a good setup for the qualifying, which was taking place in dry conditions. Together with the mechanics we did an amazing job and worked together really well to improve the car. We've at least been able to achieve two very good Top 10 results. We improved our position in the overall standings. Hopefully we will be able to build on that in Zolder."

Patrick Lemarié: "I'm extremely satisfied with the weekend. Everything worked well! In the wet we already had a good pace and even in the dry the car was running extremely well. I had to struggle a bit with understeering, which is the reason why I couldn't move up any further on Saturday. But we've worked on the car for the second race and it seemed extremely promising. I was very fast, the only problem was my starting position, which was not the best. But we had the pace and we've been able to gain postions. Towards the end, the temperature of the engine was rising and I preferred to come to the pits. Nevertheless I'm completely happy and satisfied. Together with the mechanics, we did a splendid job this weekend. I'm looking forward to the next race!"
